OLIVE TREE PRINTS: The inspiration for the olive tree painting is Romans 11. If you look very closely, you can see the text within the bark of the tree trunk and branches.
The Family of God
Just as a wild olive shoot is grafted into a sturdy olive
tree trunk, so is a new believer in the Lord Jesus Christ grafted into the
Family of God. Scripture calls this grafting an adoption. Because of the work of the Messiah (Jesus),
both Jews and Gentiles are welcomed into the Family as children of God. Each
child is sealed by the Holy Spirit, permanently bearing identity in Christ.
The painting of the olive tree represents the spiritual
adoption of all Christ followers. The painting is a symbol also of physical
adoption, representing a family tree of adopted and natural born children into
one family, bearing one name, and receiving the same inheritance as precious
children of their parents.
